“What’s important to you? What’s going to feed your family, what’s going to further your career? The fact you have 20 more people in twitter or the fact you have a new client and you can go to the bank.” – Lynette Young

Women of Google+
Lynette Young is someone that I’ve crossed paths with over the years. Someone I’ve always felt a connection with and have had a great deal of respect for. Perhaps it’s because her experience straddles across technology, marketing, and communication and we’re similar in that respect. More importantly, it’s because I think she’s smart, ambitious, and has created her own success. I believe it’s because of her unique and powerful voice that she is able to reach and connect with unique and powerful woman.
Recently she delivered a keynote about the myth of overnight success at New Media Expo and I wanted to have her on the show to talk about some of the powerful ideas she expressed in the talk.
Lynette Young has been helping professionals and companies thrive on social media platforms and digital publishing since 2006 when she founded her company Purple Stripe Productions. She published her first book, “Google+ for Small Businesses” with Pearson (Que Biz Tech) in 2012 and is currently writing her second book.
Lynette is the founder and curator of Women of Google+ and is one of the most followed women in the world on Google+ with over 1.5 million followers. She strives to illustrate the unique and powerful voice women have online and work with companies that want to reach them.
Lynette’s expertise as social media specialist and digital publishing subject matter expert gives her a distinct advantage as an engaging and informative speaker and corporate trainer. Her specialties include Google+ as well as most other social media and digital publishing platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and blogging, online community engagement, and digital communication trends.
