The Indian Air Force: My experiences
When I was in the Indian Air Force, I was privileged to travel with some of the most distinguished dignitaries in India by MI 17 helicopter. In MI 17 helicopter I was able to travel all over India and meet many different people. It also allowed me to learn about other cultures and their customs. This allowed me to understand and respect everyone. It was a trip that took me to dense forests of North East India and hot deserts in Rajasthan as well as frostbound Himalayan heights.
Inclement weather was something I became accustomed to and helped me build my endurance, strength, and health. Interacting with diverse people from India helped me to improve my mental health. My attitude, behavior, and personality were improved by traveling. In the Armed Forces, I became a leader. Then, I realized that travel was to lead.
If people don’t travel, they live like frogs in the well. To help youth grow in empathy and tolerance, it’s important to encourage a love of travel from a young age. In summary, traveling is necessary to get out of your comfort zone and see beauty in nature as well as to learn about the diversity of people around the world. To conclude in the words of Aldous Huxley, “To travel is to discover that everyone is wrong about other countries.”
